1956 - 1973

  • Parskhodro Company, formerly named Jeep Iran Trading Company, was established in 1956 in a suburban area of old Tehran (9th Km of Karaj Makhsous Road).
  • Jafar Akhavan, an inventive trad¬er who founded importation, assembly and manufacturing of automobile in Iran could have never imagined the future of his innovative actions. At that time, automotive industry had not been established in Iran and any Middle-East countries.
  • Upon being established, the first action of the company was importation of Willys Jeep from USA. Then the first production line of the same product was installed and operated and the first Iranian vehicle was offered to the market in 1959 under brand of Shahbaz Jeep. These productions were followed by manufacturing of Simorgh Pick-up, a powerful vehicle, as the second product of the same year.
  • In 1967, variety of products manufactured by the company increased by production of Rambler cars like convertible and carriage models under trade names of Aria, Shahin, Shahbaz Jeep and Ahoo Pick-up. In this year, the company had an annual production of 2650 vehicles which was seemingly low but it was considerable for Iranian market of that period.
  • In 1973, General Motors Company which had cooperated with Jeep Iran for a period of 15 years, purchased part of shares of this company and name of the company changed to General Motors Iran Co.
  • In the first year of its activity, General Motors Iran Co. offered Chevrolet Iran (Opel) in three models of 2500 cc, 2800 cc and Royal and gained a sales record of 7000 vehicles in the very first year.

1973 - 1996

  • After this period, taking into account strategy of the company which was production of a collection of luxurious and 4WD cars, the company produced products like Buick Skylark, as the first local vehicle with 8 cylinders, Cadillac Seville, Chevrolet Nova and Chevrolet Pick-up.
  • Within a period less than 4 years, General Motors Iran manufactured 70000 vehicles in 10 models that are considered as a turning point in Iranian automotive industry.
  • In 1980, at the same time with end of relationships with General Motors, the company’s name was firstly changed into Khodrosazi Iran Co. and then into Parskhodro in January of the same year. The first product manufactured after Islamic revolution, was KM Jeep (Jeep Farmandehi) in association with Indian Mahindra Company.
  • This period was concurrent with 8 years of war between Iran and Iraq (the Holly Defense). As the only local manufacturer of 4WD vehicles, Parskhodro Co. played a valuable role in motor support of the war by production of Jeeps equipped with cannon and KM Jeeps equipped with wireless equipment.
  • Cooperation with Japanese Nissan Co. was commenced in 1986 by production of Nissan vehicles in Parskhodro Co. and executive operations of assembly lines of Nissan model, commenced in April 1986 and mass production of its 4-door model in January 1987. Its two-door model was also offered to market in November 1987.
  • Of other products of these years we can imply various models of Nissan, having several applications like Money Carrier, Ambulance and Jeep Sahra in Sport and Convertible models.
  • In 1996, production line of Saipa’s Renault 5 was transferred to Parskhodro Co. Therefore another product was manufactured under trade name of Sepand, by making some changes in appearance of the vehicle.

2001 - 2010

  • In, shares of Parskhodro Co. were offered in the stock market. 51% of the share was purchased by Saipa Co. (Public Joint Stock). The first action of Saipa Co. was transferring production line of a product under trade name of Pride, as the strategic product of Saipa to Parskhodro Co.
  • In 2001, Nissan Double- Cabin Pick Up and Nissan Maxima, as the most luxurious vehicles assembled in Iran, were added to production line of Parskhodro. Using Pride’s engine, Renault 5 was produced under trade name of PK (an abbreviation extracted from initials of Parskhodro). Parskhodro offered a well-favored vehicle to the market named Patrol Safari in the same year. In 2002 and 2003, Roniz and Seranza were added to products of the company to keep Parskhodro as a high quality manufacturer of luxurious vehicles in Iran.
  • In 2005, some amendments were applied in appearance of PK and it was offered to the market under trade name of New PK.
  • In 2004, at the same time with commencement of cooperation with the French Renault Company for production of a new product named L90, Parskhodro constructed the most equipped production salon in compliance with Renault’s standards. This salon was operated with the capacity of production of 35 vehicles per hour. Therefore, within a period from 2007 to 2008, products of Renault Group (L84 and L90) were added to product list of Parskhodro Co. After a while, Parskhodro produced a new car, named Pars Tondar (SR), which was the face-lifted model of L90. Of other considerable actions of the company, we can imply manufacturing of special products for disabled people. Also, all products of the company are capable of being equipped with dual fuel system.
  • In 2010, Tiana as the, queen of beauty and quality, was offered to Iranian market that was leader of quality table of Iranian Standard and Quality Inspection Company during its production and leaded global ranking of the Japanese Nissan Co. for the first time in February 2012. In the same year, Parskhodro has offered Qashqai and Murano 4WD models, in association with Nissan Co.

2011 - 2020

  • In 2011 and 2012, notwithstanding international and economic sanctions on one hand, and increase in rate of currency on the other hand, Parskhodro managed to be recognized as a leading company amongst local competitors in terms of quality, in addition to increase its production volume.
  • In 2013, upon commencing cooperation with ZNA, the business partner of Nissan in China, Rich Pick-Up overtook to mass production as a new product of Parskhodro.
  • In line with production and manufacturing of new products to meet demands of its customers, Pars Khodro has imported CBU Products (4WD) including Renault Koleos.
  • In 2014, to develop basket of its products and increase its local market share, the company operated production lines of H320 and H330 products of Brilliance Company, collaborator and business partner of German BMW Company and offered high quality products to the market, using technology of Japanese Toyota and German Porsche in designing chassis and power train. On the other hand, the company developed its product in the same year to manufacture another group of products of Renault Group, named Sandero, and this product reached mass production in 2015.
  • Currently, being equipped with production salons of press, body, coloring and assembly and using modern technology and applying ability and knowledge of its skillful manpower, Parskhodro Company has managed to be recognized as the first Iranian vehicle manufacturer with the highest quality.
